The Economic Chamber of Greece in cooperation with the Greek Parliamentary Budget Office, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Democritus University of Thrace and the University of Peloponnese, organize an International Conference on «A New Growth Model for the Greek Economy», which is going to be held in 3rd June 2015, in Athens, Greece. The aim is to offer an international meeting point where Greek and foreign researchers could share ideas about a new growth model for the Greek Economy. Economic developments in Greece report progress in a number of areas. A primary surplus has been recorded, building on the fiscal consolidation efforts of recent years. Reforms continue in a number of areas including revenue administration, taxation, public financial management, privatization, public administration, health care, pensions, social welfare, education and the fight against corruption. The recession pace slowed in 2013, confidence indicators continue to improve and unemployment is starting to stabilize and has decreased slightly in recent months. Greece returned to economic growth in 2014. |
