On September 12, 2019 at 7pm in Cotsen Hall Sicilian archaeologist Dr. Stefano Vassallo will present, "Himera: Excavations in the Western Necropolis. The Common Graves of the Soldiers Fallen in the Battles of 480 and 409 BC."
The necropolis at Himera, an important ancient Greek city in Sicily, is one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of recent decades with more than 12,000 almost untouched burials associated with the battles between the Greeks and Carthaginians from the Archaic and Classical periods.
